On-line Job Fair connects Employers to Job Seekers

February 4th, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Midhurst/November 19, 2015 –The County of Simcoe is pleased to announce that it is partnering with the Simcoe Muskoka Workforce Development Board (SMWDB) and Employment Ontario service providers to host the first ever On-line Job Fair in Simcoe and Muskoka to connect employers to local job seekers.

SMWDB and the County of Simcoe have heard from employers that seeking out the right candidate for postings can be difficult and therefore determined that offering this opportunity will provide a new tool for employers and job seekers to connect. This free virtual hiring event will take place on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

“Simcoe County is home to more than 16,000 businesses employing approximately 230,000 people,” said Warden Gerry Marshall. “We are committed to working with our partners to provide innovative solutions which connect our employers to job seekers and that ultimately help generate economic growth and jobs throughout our region.”

Susan Laycock, executive director to SMWDB shared, “Get ready to hire next spring. The Virtual Job Fair site is rendered in a very realistic 3-D environment, making it an easy and convenient way for companies and local job seekers to network and interact in real time. ”

Charlotte Parliament, Co-Chair of SMWDB shared, “I encourage job seekers and employers in the County of Simcoe and the District of Muskoka to take advantage of this free opportunity to expand their strategies. Job seekers will have no need to leave their home and employers will be able to actively recruit from a customized on-line job booth branded with their logo – without having to spend money and be off-site of their business.”

Find out how to participate or learn more about this opportunity and discover local talent while exploring new recruitment technologies by visiting www.smwdb.com.  Registration will open in January 2016 on the SMWDB website www.smwdb.com.
