From Nashville to Anten Mills

Life is Better in a "One Horse  Town'

Meet Jason, Terrine, Caleb and Grace Campsall, residents of Anten Mills and formerly Minesing, as well as Nashville, Tennessee. Their story is one of fun, love, music, travels, homelife and non-stop adventures!

As a 25-year veteran of the entertainment industry Jason (Campsall) McCoy appears to be the king of reinvention. Growing up in the “One Horse Town” (The song “One Horse Town” can be seen at youtube.com/watch?v=8GJ_6GwYlBI) of Minesing, Ontario, Jason admired the well-rounded artistry of classic entertainers Roger Miller, Johnny Cash and Glen Campbell and so set out at the age of 19 to follow his own path to stardom. ...but music is only part of the story.

Jason is inspired by and prizes the time he spends with his wife Terrine and their two children, Grace who just turned twelve, and Caleb, who is nine, at their home farm just two miles from the small town of Minesing where it all began.

Jason met Terrine when he was performing at the Windrifter in Midland. Terrine’s aunt had come to the show and while there suggested to Jason that he should meet her niece. That one encounter ultimately led to their marriage in 1999.

Terrine obtained her Nursing degree in 2004 and works at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland. Outside of helping to save people’s lives, she spends much of her time ensuring Grace and Caleb make it to their various activities, which include piano lessons, ball hockey, horseback riding shows and baseball. Terrine also volunteers at their school, Minesing Central, as well as coaching Caleb’s ball hockey team. She is a member of Hearts of Beauty through their Church, Ferris Lane Community Church of the Nazarene.

Grace loves spending time with and showing her horse Whinny and Caleb is a BIG Boston Bruins hockey fan! The whole family enjoys dirt biking!

Jason was the youngest pilot in Canada in 1987. He is very handy around the house and takes on projects such as building a beautiful table from old boards from their barn and creating a home recording studio.

The family has two dogs, Luna, who was a rescue from Rescue 1 at a Time. She is three and loves to play. Buddy joined the family more recently and is a very active 10-month old puppy who was named by Caleb.

Jason and Terrine brought their first house in Minesing, but wanted a farm and so they built one near the village of Anten Mills in 2010. They also own a home in Nashville, but moved back to Springwater permanently to raise their children. The farm has a spectacular view and they have started to grow winter wheat, corn and now have added eight beehives in an effort to help with declining numbers.

When they are not dirt biking or repopulating the bee population, the Campsall family has devoted much time to charities and some highlights include the

TELUS Community Board, Air Canada - Dreams Take Flight, Canadian Kidney Foundation - A Brush of Hope, Grieving Children at Seasons Centre – Spokesperson, Telus Ride for Dad - Ride Captain - Annual National Ride for Prostate Cancer Research and Awareness -14 years, Saskatchewan Kinsmen Telemiracle and the World Vision -Cross Canada Tour 2011.

If the Campsall family had a motto to share, it would be “Do Your Best”!

As a solo performer, Jason has racked up: two Canada Country Music Awards (CCMAs) for Male Vocalist of the Year, along with a Gold Album for his Debut Album “Playin’ For Keeps” and a County Music Award (Nashville CMA) for the Global Artist Award.

As the creator and front man of the best-selling band in Canadian Country Music history, The Road Hammers, Jason took on the Country Rock genre and guided the band to unprecedented success throughout Canada and the United States. The band picked up a Platinum Album for their debut album “The Road Hammers” which included a USA release, a Gold Single for “Mud” (www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMQhoU-SL5w to watch the single), three CCMA Awards for Band of the Year, and a Juno for Country Recording of the Year along the way.

Equally comfortable behind the microphone, or in front of the camera, Jason has become an all-around entertainer. From voicing the nationally syndicated Country Radio show “Sounds Canadian”, (2007-2010), to stepping in front of the camera as CMTs host of “Smashtown”, “Pet Heroes”, and “Jason McCoy Eats America” as well as “Jason McCoy Christmas at The Grand in 2010” and the County Music Association of Ontario (CMAO) Awards multiple times, he is an engaging and entertaining presence!

Behind the scenes, Jason has taken on the role of Creator/Producer of CMT and GAC Network, USAs’ “The Road Hammers” series, co-producing with Jason Priestley on season two. He has worked as the Creator/Producer CMT Web Series “The Road Hammers Go Everywhere”; on C93 Sundays (now simulcast on Country 105) and made an appearance with bandmate Clayton Bellamy on “Mantracker” for their highest rated episode!

Jason’s music was featured on the ABC Television series “Good Christian Belles”’ Episode “Forbidden Fruit” (“Sin Comin’ On”) and on “Bad Cop Bon Cop” (“I’m A Road Hammer”) which was the highest grossing independent Canadian film in history . Recently Jason has taken on an announcer role on Kick FM Radio’s morning show.

Through Jason’s work, the Campsall’s have been able to travel all across the globe (including Canada, USA, China, Australia, France, Bermuda, Mexico, Cuba and Kandahar Afghanistan) but truly believe that they are happiest in the best place in the world with their wonderful community, Springwater! Homegrown indeed!  (The song “Homegrown” can be seen at youtube.com/watch?v=9Q4mBiEBck)
